If you’re currently in a CPF-funded English course—or thinking about starting one—it’s important to know that all of my CPF courses are certified by the TOEIC exam.

The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is one of the most recognized English certifications in the world. It’s used to assess your level in a professional context and is often required to complete a CPF course.

So how does the TOEIC work? What’s the format? And how can you prepare for it with confidence?

In this article, I’ll explain how the online TOEIC exam works, how I support students during the registration and preparation process, and I’ll share practical tips and free resources—whether you’re already in a course or considering signing up.

🖥️ How You’ll Take the TOEIC

All of my students take the TOEIC Online, which means:

  • You’ll take the test from home 🏡

  • On your own computer or laptop

  • At a time that works for you, including evenings or weekends

  • In a comfortable, quiet environment (no need to travel or wait in line)

Once your CPF course is finished, I’ll register you directly. You’ll then receive a confirmation email from ETS Global with a link to schedule and access your exam.

The whole process is streamlined, secure, and flexible—perfect for learners balancing work, family, and life.

🎯 What’s the TOEIC Exactly?

There are two main formats of the TOEIC:

  1. TOEIC Listening & Reading (most common with CPF)

  2. TOEIC Speaking & Writing (optional for some courses)

Your course type will determine which version you take. I’ll confirm this with you directly.

Here's a quick overview of each section:

🧏‍♀️ Listening Section (45 minutes)

Multiple-choice questions based on recordings of conversations and announcements.

Tips:

  • Train with YouTube channels or English podcasts

  • Focus on understanding the global meaning, not every word

  • Practice with accents from different countries (UK, US, Australia)

📖 Reading Section (75 minutes)

You’ll read emails, notices, and short texts, then answer comprehension questions.

Tips:

🎙️ Speaking & Writing Sections (if applicable)

For the TOEIC 4-skills version, here’s what’s included:

✍️ Writing Section (60 minutes)

  • Write sentences from images

  • Respond to emails

  • Express your opinion in writing

Tips:

  • Use simple, formal English

  • Make sure your ideas are structured

  • Avoid long, complex sentences

🗣️ Speaking Section (20 minutes)

  • Read a text aloud

  • Describe a photo

  • Answer verbal questions

Tips:

  • Speak slowly and clearly

  • Practice answering common questions

  • Use connectors like “In my opinion…”

🤝 My Role in the Process

Here’s what I’ll take care of:

  • I register you directly with ETS

  • I confirm the test version (Listening/Reading or 4 skills)

  • I guide you through test access and setup

  • I send you tips and final practice before the exam

💬 Final Thought: The TOEIC is Just a Snapshot

Your TOEIC score is not a judgment—it’s an evaluation of your current level.

You don’t need a perfect score. The goal is to recognize your progress, feel confident, and take the next step in your learning journey.

You've worked hard. The test is just one more tool to celebrate how far you’ve come. 💪
